The ArtCities project is a nationwide initiative to spotlight emerging and underrepresented artists; Winston-Salem and Greensboro was selected as the inaugural film. The film highlights five artists from a variety of disciplines—sculpture, painting, photography, and mixed media—and illustrates how their personal journey and location influence their work.

For Barbara Davis, the interviews with UNA’s Public History students is her way of preserving the history of New Bethel and Germantown. As the students conduct oral interviews with New Bethel congregants, it is revealed to us the profound impact of gentrification on Black families, echoing through generations.
